‏TINUBU, EL-RUFA’I AND 2027 BROUHAHA: A rejoinder to George Udom:

George Udom a sponsored advocate of devided North’s piece fails to acknowledge the underlying issues driving the rift between President Bola Tinubu and Emir Sanusi and El-Rufai. The reality is that Tinubu’s leadership style has been deemed insensitive, particularly towards Northern Nigerians, who have borne the brunt of his economic policies.

These policies have been criticized for undermining Northern development, exacerbating the already existing sense of marginalization. It’s crucial to recognize that El-Rufai and Emir Sanusi are outspoken advocates for the masses, and their criticism of Tinubu’s administration stems from a desire to protect the interests of their people.

Contrary to Udom’s assertion, Tinubu’s refusal to intervene in local struggles is not the primary cause of the rift. Rather, it’s the perception that his administration has neglected the North, despite the region’s significant contribution to his election victory ¹.

Udom’s accusations of El-Rufai and Emir Sanusi seeking personal favors from Tinubu oversimplify the complex issues at play. It’s essential to consider the broader context of Northern marginalization and the need for more inclusive governance.

Ultimately, Tinubu’s administration must address the legitimate concerns of Northern Nigerians and work towards more equitable development. Merely dismissing criticism as personal agendas or power struggles will only exacerbate the existing tensions.
