Nigerian Foreign Returnee Cries for Help Over N150M Missing from His UBA Account
A Nigerian foreign returnee is crying out for help after over ₦150 million mysteriously vanished from his UBA account.
According to him, bank officials claimed the money had been withdrawn by someone who alleged he was dead and buried.
He stated that the funds—his hard-earned savings totaling over ₦150 million—were removed from the account in 2023.
When he asked the bank to provide the identity of the person who made the withdrawal, he was told he had no right to that information.
More shockingly, the victim revealed that even before he arrived at the bank, police officers were already waiting for him. As soon as he raised his voice to protest the situation, the bank allegedly instructed the police to take him out.
He further questioned the claim of his death, saying:
“I used to deposit money into that account at least four times a year. How can someone who is supposedly dead still be making deposits?”
Speaking with a human rights activist who has offered to help take up the case, the victim disclosed that the bank confirmed there was money in the account, but it had been claimed by someone who insisted he was deceased.
The activist noted that for anyone to legally access the funds of a deceased person, a valid death certificate must be presented.
The story has sparked outrage online.
