A man from Northern Nigeria has raised alarm after filming hundreds of young girls, aged 3 to 10, begging on the streets of Kano.
The man, visibly angered, explained that this is part two of his video series. He had earlier filmed another large group of women, numbering in the hundreds, also begging on Kano’s streets. “These children should be in school, yet they are out here begging,” he said.
He urged the government to take immediate action to stop this alarming trend, expressing frustration over parents in the North having children they cannot properly care for.
This situation is particularly concerning, as these are little girls—and that’s without even mentioning the countless Almajiri boys living under similar conditions.
Adding to the outrage, a Northern public official has allegedly spent $5 million on secondary school fees abroad for his four children, highlighting the stark contrast between the privileged few and vulnerable children on the streets.
