There was palpable tension on Saturday in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state, over sounds of gunshots at the venue of the mega rally by a group, NEW Associates, loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, in a footage obtained by News360 Nigeria
The rally is being organised by the group coordinated by George Turnah, who is the Zonal Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the South-South Zone and the current Acting Chairman of the PDP in Bayelsa State.
The rally was ongoing when sounds of gunshots blazed across the area.
Normalcy has, however, been restored.
