It is not often that a Nigerian soldier is able to capture a firefight involving infantry, tanks and major firepower, so when this video clip arrived in my news feed, I had to share it on the Nairaland forum for the viewing pleasure of my fellow armchair generals in the house. If you listen carefully you will hear the whistle of incoming rounds whipping past the cameraman’s head as he bravely records the chaotic firefight.
Sit back, and enjoy the fireworks, but while you see the brave men of the Nigerian army lock horns with a determined and well funded enemy, remember that this is no movie, and that when the smoke clears, a few Nigerian soldiers will have paid the ultimate price, and thus made the ultimate sacrifice for their fatherland.
