Breaking: Zelensky Offers U.S. Exclusive Access to Ukraine’s Trillion-Dollar Mineral Reserves – “Let’s Do a Deal”
Kyiv, Ukraine (Reuters) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has proposed a high-stakes mineral partnership with the United States, offering American companies access to Ukraine’s vast deposits of rare earth elements in exchange for increased financial and military support.
In an interview with Reuters, Zelensky emphasized that the U.S. could tap into Ukraine’s trillion-dollar mineral wealth, but only through a joint venture with Ukraine. “Let’s do a deal,” he stated, signaling his willingness to negotiate a strategic partnership rather than allowing unilateral control.
This offer builds on discussions held with U.S. Senators Richard Blumenthal and Lindsey Graham in August 2024. The senators highlighted that securing Ukraine’s rare minerals could both aid Ukraine’s economy and reduce U.S. dependence on foreign competitors.
Zelensky’s mineral diplomacy is a key part of his “victory plan,” presented to Ukraine’s parliament in October 2024, which seeks to strengthen alliances with the West and secure NATO membership.
