Information on Nigeria’s State House website regarding tenure of past Heads of State and Presidents is not completely correct.

Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan GCFR was officially sworn into office on the 6 May 2010, and his tenure lasted to 29 May 2015, However the State House website has it as 29 May 2010 to 29 May 2015.
Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar GCFR was Head of State between 9 June 1998 – 29 May 1999. The State house website has it as 8 June 1998 to 29 May 1999. Note that 8 June was the day Abacha died, however Abubakar became Head of State the next day.
Maj. Gen. Johnson Aguiyi-Ironsi was Head of State between 16 January 1966 – 29 July 1966, the State house website has it that he was Head of State from 6 January 1966. Note the 1966 coup took place on the 15 January 1966.
Dr. Nnamdi Azikwe was Governor General from 16 November 1960 to 1 October 1963 and then President from 1 October 1963 to 16 January 1966. The State House website only recognizes his tenure from 1 October 1963.
Alh. Abubakar Tafawa Balewa was Prime Minister from 1 October 1960 – 15 January 1966, the State House wrongly states it as 1 October 1960 – 1 October 1963. Note, Balewa was killed in the 1966 coup. Prior to being Prime Minister, he was Chief Minister of Nigeria (Head of Government) from 30 August 1957 – 1 October 1960.
