Bishop Of Enugu, Ikechukwu Egbuonu, Visits Nnamdi Kanu In Sokoto

The Bishop of Oji River Diocese, Enugu State, Bishop Ikechukwu Egbuonu, has shared his experience visiting IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu in Sokoto prison. Speaking on AIT, the Bishop said he had to visit Kanu to see how he was doing and was surprised to see that Kanu was in high spirits despite his travail. According to the Bishop, Kanu is still adamant that his trial was baseless as it was done on a none existent law, and that the illegal way he was kidnapped and brought to Nigeria meant the courts had no jurisdiction to try him

He said that Nnamdi Kanu urged him to tell Igbo youths not to turn violent over his conviction, that the judgment will definitely be overturned at the court of appeal

When asked if he supports Nnamdi Kanu’s agitation, Bishop Ebuonu said that although he does not support everything Nnamdi Kanu does, he supports the agitation because Nigeria is not working

He also said that the day Nnamdi Kanu was sentenced to life imprisonment, Igbo land felt like someone had died
